General Information

The Registrar’s office is responsible for providing:

• Marriage, Civil Union and Domestic Partnership Licenses
• There is a $28 license fee to be paid by cash or check only.  Application for these licenses must be made in the municipality in which the applicant resides.  If both applicants live out of state, then they must apply in the municipality where the ceremony will take place.  When applying, the couple must bring proof of ID, proof of residency, if applicable, divorce decree, death certificate for previous partner or termination of prior civil union or domestic partnership.  There is a 72 hour waiting period from the time of application to receipt of license.  Couples are advised to make application no later than one week prior to the wedding date.  At the time of application, the couple must be present and accompanied by a witness at least 18 years of age or older.

• Certified copies of marriage licenses, civil union licenses, domestic partnership licenses, birth and death certificates
  Certified copies of licenses and certificates are available in the municipality where the event took place. Haddon Township’s fee is $10 for the 1st copy, and $5 for each additional copy.
