The Construction Office is closed from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM every day for Technical Assistant’s lunch hour.  Time may vary up to a 1/2 hour due to heavy volume of homeowners and builders needing assistance.


Inspection Scheduling

All inspections shall be scheduled now by email.  Please email all inspection requests to inspections@haddontwp.com.  With your inspection request, please include the following information:  permit number, type of inspection, and date of inspection request.  You will receive an email confirmation with the scheduled date and time. 


Property Resale Application & Inspections

RESIDENTIAL-RESALE-or-TENANT-CHANGE-INSPECTION-APPLICATION

All Property Resale Inspections are done on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM .   To schedule an inspection, please contact Bonnie Richards at brichards@haddontwp.com.

All applications must be in and paid for at least 2 weeks in advance of inspection date.


Zoning Requirements

A zoning permit is required by ordinance as a condition precedent to the commencement of a use or the erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, conversion or installation of a structure or building, which acknowledges such use, structure or building complies with the provision of the municipal zoning ordinances pursuant to the Municipal Land Use Law.

Some examples of when a zoning permit is required all exterior type work, such as additions, decks, sheds, pools, driveway improvements, etc., as well as some interior work such as converting a garage into living space.

You must first get approval from the Zoning Officer before construction permits can be filed.

Planning/Zoning Board

A variance is an approved departure from the normal requirements imposed by the local zoning ordinance. A variance is needed if construction, alteration, or occupancy of a structure will result in a violation of zoning requirements.

An application for a variance will be reviewed by the zoning officer and referred for approval or denial to the Planning/Zoning Board.

Permit Application Requirements:

You must complete a Permit application. Applications are available in the Construction office and can be downloaded below. A description of the work to be done must be completed and submitted to be reviewed by the appropriate Subcode official(s). If rejected, the applicant is notified of the reason. If approved, the applicant or contractor will be notified of the cost to pick up the completed permit.  All home improvement contractors must be licensed with the State of New Jersey.
