A Street Car Named Desire

By Tennessee Williams

March 5 – March 29

This classic tale introduces Tennessee Williams’ passionate characters to us once again. The Ritz’s production will surround them with a musical score that will punctuate the action with the steamy sounds of jazz. Blanche DuBois is a fading, though still attractive, Southern belle who clings to high-toned Southern customs of decorum. We are drawn into her world of self-deceit, fantasies and passion as Stella, her sister, and Stanley, her brother-in-law (made famous by Marlon Brando), collide into a climax as only Tennessee Williams can deliver.

Sustainable Jersey is a certification program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to go green, save money, and take steps to sustain their quality of life OR more simply put, Sustainable Jersey is about: People, Planet and Prosperity.
In 2009, Haddon Township was one of the first communities in the state to recognize the value the Sustainable Jersey program and registered to participate.   In 2011, the Township became one of the first communities  to achieve a bronze level of certification. At that time, Haddon Township was one of only 34 municipalities in the State to achieve certification with only 141 participating communities.
Today, 419 municipalities have registered for the program with 171 having achieved certification.  Of those 171 certified, only 27 communities in the state have achieved the highest level of certification, silver. Haddon Township was awarded Silver certification  at the Sustainable Jersey Awards Program held in conjunction with the New Jersey League of Municipalities. Over the past six years , the Township has been award three grants which has assisted with funding our green projects!
